Aside from the fact that the Bills, and the city of Buffalo for that matter, live under a cloud of inevitable doom; there’s several other reasons why we are stupid for betting on the Bills. I’ve been betting for a long time; long enough to see some trends, and to learn some no-no’s. A huge no-no is betting on the game that “guy in the bar” also thinks is a great bet. This is when I knew I picked the wrong side:

Guy in bar: Hey man, you know west coast teams are 0-14 this year when coming to the East coast and playing at 1 o’clock?

Me: Oh Yeah? That’s nuts. (Fuck)

Guy in bar: Yup. That’s why I took the Bills, it’s a lock. They’re going to beat the hell out of the Niners’.

Me: (You’ve got to be kidding) As soon as “guy in the bar” told me he took the Bills; I knew we were toast.

I’d like to apologize to all our faithful buyers, supporters, and fans. I expect better from my site and myself. This game had trap written all over it. Sunday NFL Countdown knew about the 0-14 thing – if they know about it – you can pretty much discard the information. The huge trap signal was the line itself. (6.5) it makes you think, “Oh the Bills can cover a touchdown. I wouldn’t take the game at -7.” The line didn’t move from its open either, which means the sharps didn’t touch it, which means the line was perfect. So if you found yourself sitting next to a buzzed over-weight guy in a Dolphins jersey telling you how he took the Bills too…. We apologize. It won’t happen again.
